SEO Opportunity Planner — WorkersComp Marketing
SEO Opportunity Planner

What is page one actually worth to your firm?

Organic rankings are the one channel that keeps paying after you stop. This shows the size of the prize — the signed cases and revenue that top-of-page-one positions would put within reach — computed from your market's own numbers.

This is the ceiling, not a promise. It's what page one is worth if you win the positions — SEO is a 6–12 month ramp and rankings are never guaranteed. The click-through rates are published industry averages (not a WC-specific benchmark). Replace the starter numbers with your market's.

What each number means

How organic search turns into signed cases — in plain English.

Click-through rate by position

What it is. The share of searchers who click a given position. It's wildly top-heavy: #1 earns ~27% of clicks, #3 around 9–10%, and the bottom of page one only 2–3%. Page two is a rounding error.

Where these come from. Public, repeatedly-measured studies of billions of searches — not a workers'-comp benchmark we invented. Your real curve varies with ads, map packs, and intent, so treat these as a well-grounded default.

Why the top of page one matters so much

Because CTR compounds through the whole funnel. Tripling your clicks triples your leads, which triples your signed cases — at zero extra cost per case. That's why moving from #8 to #3 is worth far more than it looks: you're not gaining a few percent, you're multiplying.

The SEO ramp — and why this is a ceiling

SEO is not instant. Rankings typically take 6–12 months to build and are never guaranteed. This tool shows the prize if you win the positions — deliberately, like a ceiling — so you can decide whether the climb is worth the investment. It is not a forecast that you will rank.

Converting the traffic you win

Rankings are half the job. If your site doesn't turn injured-worker visitors into calls, page-one traffic just leaves. Visit-to-lead rate is the multiplier that decides whether SEO pays — which is why it's an input here, not an afterthought.

SEO vs. paid

Paid ads buy traffic that stops the day you stop paying; SEO builds an asset that keeps producing. Paid is faster, SEO compounds. The strongest firms run both — paid for now, organic for the durable base. Compare the economics with the Google Ads and Cost Per Case planners.

How the prize is calculated

clicks = search volume × CTR(position), then × visit-to-lead × lead-to-signed × fee. The prize is the difference between your target position and today. Annual figures are monthly × 12. Every step is on the page.

How this is built — and what it will not pretend to know

The math is deterministic: clicks = volume × CTR(position), then through your own visit-to-lead and close rates to signed cases, revenue, and — if you add spend — ROI. No black box.

The click-through curve is published, not invented. It comes from large public studies of real search behaviour. That is different from the made-up “industry benchmarks” we refuse to quote elsewhere — but it is still an average, and your market's real curve depends on ads, map packs, and how commercial the query is.

It is a ceiling, on purpose. We show what page one is worth, not a promise you'll get there. SEO takes months, rankings move, and no one can guarantee a position. Treat this as the size of the opportunity — the reason to invest — not a projection of certain results.
